As the #1 real estate team in Loudoun County, the Garrell Group knows these communities inside and out, and one of the best parts of living here is the way the whole area shows up for the Fourth. We put together this guide to help you plan a great holiday. Here is what is happening for Fourth of July in Loudoun County in 2026.
Fourth of July in Loudoun County Celebrates America’s 250th Anniversary
Loudoun County sits at the heart of one of the most historic regions in the country, so it makes sense that the 250th anniversary of American independence is a big deal here. The Loudoun 250th Committee and the statewide VA250 commission have lined up special programming all summer, and the Fourth itself is the centerpiece.
The standout history event is Independence Declared, hosted by the Clerk of the Circuit Court on the courthouse grounds in downtown Leesburg.
- When: Saturday, July 4, 2026, 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Where: Courthouse grounds, 18 E. Market Street, Leesburg
- What to see: The historic Charles Hamilton Houston Courthouse will be open with exhibits of Loudoun County Revolutionary War court records, including a deed signed by George Washington. The Thomas Balch Library, the Black History Committee of the Friends of the Thomas Balch Library, and the Daughters of the American Revolution will all have displays on the area’s Revolutionary history.
The event runs right after the Leesburg Independence Day Parade, so you can make a full day of it downtown before heading to the evening fireworks.

Plan Your Fourth of July in Loudoun County
A few things to keep in mind before you head out to any of the county fireworks shows:
- No personal fireworks, including sparklers, and no outside alcoholic beverages at county events.
- No pets are allowed in the fireworks viewing areas.
- Picnic blankets are welcome on the grass viewing fields, and personal tents are allowed in most areas but must come down before the fireworks start.
- Free parking is available at all county locations, but lots fill up fast, so arrive early. Parking at Franklin Park and Hanson Regional Park closes at 8:00 p.m. or when lots reach capacity.
- Rain dates vary by event, so check the host’s page if the weather looks iffy.
